SELECTIONS FROM
FRANKENSTEIN GAME SOUNDTRACK

My English class is part of the specialty design program I attend for high school. After reading and discussing Frankenstein junior year, we were asked to create a responsive project exploring the themes in the novel. My friends and I paired up to create a video game. I created the game and composed the music, and my friends created the artwork. It was a challenge to pull off a full game and 12-song soundtrack in a two week window, but we (mostly) didn't regret the choice. Below are two selections from the soundtrack, The Monster and Cottage.
THE MONSTER. This plays when Victor confronts the monster for the first time. I knew this track should have a very dark and intimidating feeling, and I think that came through pretty well.
COTTAGE. This plays during the cottage scene near the end of the game, where the monster is describing his experience with the cottagers. I wanted this piece to have a peaceful and emotional feeling and to represent what the monster was feeling in this moment. I had the song start with a simple guitar melody and build from there to diagetically represent the old man playing the guitar in the novel.
